This session is not physiotherapy treatment, assessment, or advice. Participation is voluntary and will not affect access to physiotherapy services now or in the future. Scar Release Physiotherapy

Like a lasagna, the layers of abdominal tissue should glide over each other smoothly. However after a c-section or any abdominal surgical procedure, these abdominal layers can get stuck together due to scar tissue, sticking to organs, muscles and skin, limiting movement, blood flow and core function.

Ellie is a senior orthopaedic and pelvic floor physiotherapist with over 8+ years experience, who has a passion for whole-body, integrative, alignment-based care. She works closely with her clients to find the root cause of the dysfunction, and then creates an individualized, goal-based plan to address the pain, poor biomechanics or stiffness.

She works to integrate her manual therapy, soft tissue release, gait scan, McKenzie therapy, fascial release, cupping, taping, therapeutic exercise and acupuncture skills into her care to achieve optimal rehab results. After completing her Bachelor of Health Sciences at McMaster University (2008) and Masters of Physical Therapy at Western University (2015), she has proactively sought out more education, such as enrolling in a 18 month Integrative Health Coaching Program, and taken a plethora of courses in lumbopelvic, spine, and chronic pain assessment and treatment.
