General Physiotherapy
Do you have back, shoulder, neck, hip pain? Have constant headaches or migraines? The root cause of your pain or injury will be identified. Then, treatment will focus on eliminating the pain, restoring alignment, strengthening, and functional integration. You will receive a combination of treatment techniques, ranging from soft tissue release, manual therapy, Mckenzie method, acupuncture, fascial release & taping.
Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy
Have to pee often? Have pain with sex? Period pain? Pain down there? Are you a pregnant mama that would like to learn about optimizing their birth experience through strategies like labour positioning, pain management, and pushing techniques? Through an internal exam, the “muscles down there” aka the pelvic floor will be assessed and treated. The pelvic floor muscles play an important role in organ support, sex, bladder/bowel control, and birth.
Jaw Physiotherapy
Jaw or temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction is characterized as pain, tension, clicking and clenching in the jaw. Intra-oral release techniques, dry needling and acupuncture will be used to release the muscles inside your jaw. External muscles around the jaw and neck will be also released. You will also learn strategies to calm the autonomic nervous system, as jaw tension can arise from a stressed out nervous system.
Scar Release Physiotherapy
Like a lasagna, the layers of abdominal tissue should glide over each other smoothly. However after a c-section or any abdominal surgical procedure, these abdominal layers can get stuck together due to scar tissue, sticking to organs, muscles and skin, limiting movement, blood flow and core function.
Physio Pilates
**NOTE: A General/TMJ/Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy Initial Appointment must be booked BEFORE booking in for Physio Pilates Follow-up sessions***
Similar to traditional Pilates, Physio Pilates emphasizes concentration, precise body movements, rhythmic patterns, and controlled breathing using the reformer. It places significant emphasis on activating deep core muscles while coordinating major muscle groups crucial for daily functioning. At Physio Pilates sessions, the physiotherapist works with the Clinical Pilates instructor to customize specific exercises to address underlying muscle dysfunctions, making it an invaluable tool for rehabilitating injuries and restoring full function, particularly in cases of shoulder, lower back, hip, or knee pain. Moreover, for individuals experiencing physical changes due to pregnancy and childbirth, combining Pilates with Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy proves to be a potent strategy for rebuilding core strength and addressing discomforts such as pelvic pain, incontinence, and organ prolapse.
